As a farmer’s son from Staffordshire, Boomer Birch has been working with Cogent Breeding Limited for 12 years. In 2016, he was appointed for the role of Beef Programme Manager to drive forward the selective breeding programmes and genetic development with the genetics team while Woking on different genetic projects and beef sales.

He is also responsible for selecting bulls for the Cogent stud that are suited to the pedigree, suckler and beef on dairy markets. Asides from his work commitments, Boomer is a successful showman with his Sky-High Hereford and British blue herds with a variety of breed and interbreed championships under his belt. The Birch family currently hold the record priced Hereford female sold at public auction in the UK
