I grew up in north Northumberland and have been involved in agriculture all my life. Following three years studying agriculture with farm business management at Newcastle University, I am now a farm manager for Dyson Farming in Lincolnshire. This is a role which includes the management of a 3,000 acre mixed farm of beef, sheep, arable crops, energy crops and potatoes.
As well as UK agriculture I am fascinated by agriculture all over the world. Being a member of the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth has allowed me to spend time in Canada and the Caribbean looking at their farming systems and food supply chains.
