I am from a family farm based in the heart of Scotland in Stirling. Farming was born and bred into me and I work alongside my father and grandfather on our 3000acre arable and beef farm with a small flock of sheep also. Pedigree cattle is my passion and we run a herd of 250 limousin cows along with a small herd of Aberdeen Angus more recently and a handful of British blues. The latest venture has been into Blue Texels and I am excited to see how they turn out.
I studied Agriculture at Edinburgh SAC before returning home to work on the farm. I have had a lot of great opportunities within the beef industry to travel to different countries and see different things so i am very keen to help the younger generation have the same opportunity that I did. I was chairman of the young limousin breeders club for 4 years and now vice chairman of the Scottish limousin club along with the Scottish youth development coordinator for the Aberdeen Angus Society in hope that I can continue to encourage more youth into our great industry.
